The Amalgam was constructed from inhuman, mismatched, repurposed, or reanimated parts. Their central conflict is understanding who they are despite the lies of their creator and the fear they inspire in others.

Inspire awe and fear with The Amalgam,  a new unofficial playbook for Thirsty Sword Lesbians. This Powered by Lesbians community playbook includes:

  • The Amalgam playbook
  • Relationship questions
  • GM moves
  • Falling Deeper question
  • Table of friends, threats, and plots

Be the Monster

Be the horrifying, hypnotic, monstrous creation that others can't help but admire and gossip about. Were your stitched together from body parts or doll parts. Born from magic or cursed by the gods? Or genetically engineered for one purpose alone?

No matter how you were created, up until now you've only known yourself through your creator's lies and all those rumors and legends. But you're free and it's your time to learn what you're really made of.

So be born yesterday and break out of your mold as an Amalgam.

Peak yet Weak

As an Amalgam, you are the peak example of what could be. Designed to be the most dangerous or beautiful or horrific. With your default Synthetic Bebe move, your body can always be strange and powerful. You may even have a Sole Purpose, letting you pursue your creator's vision with efficient and deadly accuracy.

But like all monsters, you have a weakness. My Only Weakness! lets you have an excuse to never say no to a duel, a dance, or anything else you can imagine. If you're a clone, you might be Mass Produced. Or maybe you just Don't Know How to Act

Each of these moves gets the rest of your group involved — aiding you in a time of need, falling for your clones siblings, or getting swept up your new experiences and emotions.

Bring the Monster to Your Other Playbooks

Several moves from the Amalgam are great fits for other playbooks. Amplify the legends around your Chosen’s destiny with Mythic. The Nature Witch may get good mileage out of Don’t Know How to Act. Make your Infamous more cut-throat with Sole Purpose. Lean into a more doll-like or pleasure-AI flavored Dream Mirror using the Mass Produced move. Or make your Hologoddess defy their creator with Jailbroken.

If you're interested in exploring themes of rumor and legend, control and weakness, or discovering yourself despite what you've been told, taking moves from The Amalgam will help intensify that journey no matter what playbook you bring them to.

This setting was designed in the Tamien Nation and Chochenyo lands, also known as San Jose and Oakland, on the unceded territories of Chochenyo, Muwekma, and Tamien Nation Oholone peoples.

Despite state-sanctioned murder, land-theft, and marginalization, the people of these nations and lands still live in these lands, practicing their traditional culture and religion. You can support them through donation, learning about them and their culture, and being mindful of how you represent indigenous communities and colonial forces in the stories you tell.
